This series is about my research on digital painting, but equally, as my core concept is about the study of painting, these digital paintings originate from physical paintings.

There are collages, image matting, responses to NFT trends.

They appear digitally and are produced as prints.

Signals for Historians is my study of the drawing plane montage (detailed in another section), exploring the similarities and differences between the way drawing was done in Ancient Egypt and contemporarily. In the research and creation of the digital paintings, I was matting the head and giving it different styles. I worked on this theme when NFT art became popular in 2021, and the background is the pixelated square style of NFT art, but I added an attractive dividing line. ‘Variations on the same image’ is a commercial feature of NFT art.

元学者的信号 是我对绘画平面蒙太奇（在另一章节里有详细说明）的研究，探索古埃及时的绘画方式与当代的绘画方式的异同。在数字绘画的研究创作中，我把它的头像抠出来并赋予不同的格。 2021年NFT艺术流行时我也对此主题进行了创作，作品中的背景就是NFT艺术常用的像素方块风格，但是我加入了有意思的分割线。 ‘同一形象的变调’是NFT艺术的富有商业性的特点。

After the initial experiment, I created some funny images that originated from watercolour on paper. It was a collision of certainty and uncertainty as I cut a piece of paper casually, picking out interesting pieces and using the shape of that piece as a rule to create the image. Once they are finished on paper, I photograph them and transform them into digital ones, embellishing the image and the background once more, searching for more possible effects in the background, and finally naming them according to the image. Unlike traditional creation, where ideas are conceived first and then acted upon, the initiative in this process stems from randomness.

在初次实验以后，我又创造了一些有趣的形象，它们源于纸本水彩。我把一张纸随性的切割，挑出一些有趣的碎片，以这个碎片的形状为规则来创造形象，这是一次笃定与不确定的碰撞。在纸面上完成之后，我便把它们拍摄并转化成数字的，在形象与背景上进行再一次的润色，在背景中寻找更多可能的效果，最后再根据形象来取名。与传统创作的先构思后行动不同，这个过程中的主动性源于随机性。
